Bulk Rack Specifications

Vertical Uprights: Posts shall be fabricated from 14 gauge cold rolled steel and roll formed into an 1-1/2" wide x 2-15/16" deep tubular section. Rear flanges are welded on 6"centers to provide maximum strength. Sides of the post are punched 1-1/2" on center with 3/8" x 7/8" rectangular slots to receive shelf clip. Post front is slotted on 3” centers for beam connection and is punched on 3” centers for beam connection set screw. Front to back horizontal and angled channel bracing shall be 14 gauge cold rolled steel welded to the vertical posts to create a rigid upright structure.

Horizontal Beams: Beams shall be fabricated from 14 gauge cold rolled steel and formed into a
channel shape with double bends at top and bottom and includes slots for front-to back braces. Two prong brackets for attachment to vertical uprights shall be fabricated from 10 gauge steel and be welded to both ends of beams.

Front-to-Back Beam Bracing: Beam bracing shall be fabricated from 14 gauge cold rolled steel and roll formed into a channel shape with down bend flanges at both ends that fit into slots in horizontal beams. Minimum front-to-back bracing required is as follows: For units with particleboard decking, 48”and 60” wide units – 2 braces per level, 72” wide units – 3 braces per level, 96” wide units – 4 braces per level; For units with no decking, wire decking or steel shelf decking, 48” and 60 wide units – 1 brace per level, 72” and 96” wide units – 2 braces per level.

Particleboard Decking: Shall be type 1-M-2, 5/8” thick industrial grade.

Waterfall Wire Decking: Shall be 2-1/2” x 4” mesh fabricated with 6 gauge welded wire with
waterfall at front and back and shall include front to back 16 gauge ‘U’ channels for support.

Steel Shelf Decking: Shall be manufactured with 20 gauge cold rolled steel formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edge and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled steel and have roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends resistance welded to the under side of shelf. Welds are spaced 3"on center to provide maximum strength. Sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to provide a rigid corner and add extra strength to the shelf.

Foot Plates (optional): 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" x 11 gauge steel plate with mounting bracket welded on top. The bracket is punched for fastening to H- posts. The plate shall have a 7/16" diameter hole punched on one end for floor anchoring and be embossed on the other end for Shim Plate alignment. Provide as required for floor anchoring or when shimming is required for a level installation.

Finishing: All painted components to be cleaned and coated after fabrication with a seven stage
zinc/iron phosphate solution to inhibit corrosion, followed by a coat of high grade custom blend powder electrostatically sprayed and baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 20 minutes to provide a tough durable finish.

Color for all painted components: All vertical uprights shall be 707 Marine Blue and all beams and front to back beam bracing shall be 711 Platinum.
